More than half of women are unsatisfied by their looks (55%). More specifically, they would like to improve the abdomen (71%), body weight (66%), and muscle tone (58%). Men, on the other hand, are unsatisfied by muscle tone, abdomen, chest, their overall appearance and their weight.

Eight-and-a-half million people underwent cosmetic surgery in 2011. Eighty-seven percent of them were women, mostly young.

Two-and-a-half million italians suffer from psoriasis, but more than half of them are unsatisfied by the cures they receive mostly because of poor effectiveness and side-effects. Almost all of them (80%) do not practice any sport and 6 over 10 don’t go to the swimming pool or to the sea to avoid showing others the lesions on their skin.

Feeling beautiful after invasive medical treatments helps the healing process.

Children develop an image of themselves even before school years. For adolescents a good level of self-esteem related to body image can play a role in school and social success.

Hypnotic and self-hypnotic techniques promote the integration of body image with a broader narrative of one’s own identity. They can not only activate changes in self perception in order to make it more functional, but can also promote changes in lifestyle aimed at achieving greater well-being and physical harmony.

The way in which we look at ourselves is strongly influenced by the lenses we use, by our premises, habits, stories.

Sometimes a body with a certain beauty can be perceived as not attractive, it is covered, considered as an obstacle to social life, to intimate relationships.

These premises (ex. about age, physical or medical conditions), habits and stories can be uncovered and restructured through hypnosis.
Hypnosis can also be used to promote a lifestyle that takes care of the body and of our way to inhabit it, leading to a better self image and contributing to our personal and relational well-being.
